No two clients, projects or needs are the same. This is why I offer a variety of services that are aimed to help solve a companies issues, achieve their goals, or just improve their overall design/experience, regardless of size, budget, or product.
If you are looking for a more long-term, hands-on service, this is it. Whether full or part-time, you can hire me to work with you or your team to help with design tasks within your company. Acting as a solo, supporting, or lead designer, I can work alongside you and your team to help implement my design expertise, talk strategy and design the product as a whole.
Often, startups need a designer that wears multiple hats. Mainly because as a startup, the budget is tight, time is short and things are moving fast.
I offer a range of services catered towards startups and their unique needs/circumstances, such as Product Design, UI/UX and Creative Strategy/Direction and take time to understand the business, product and its users so that I am able to come up with a solution-based design approach to help solve real cases and achieve business needs.
So, whether you are just starting out designing/building the product or have a product/design but want help improving the users’ experience, products visuals or just the feel of the product, get in touch and see if we are a good fit.
A design consultation lets us talk through specific issues related to your product/company and discuss potential solutions, ideas and experiments. Focused on design thinking and product strategy, a consultation allows intense bursts of creative direction, guidance and discussion without the full-time commitment.
Depending on the current state of your company/product, you may find it valuable to be able to chat through your products current issues, pain points and goals.
As a startup, you may find it beneficial to consult with me about high-level project planning, strategy and creative direction. Or maybe instead to go through specific flows or screens to discuss ways to improve the users’ experience or visual aesthetics of them.
Whereas a more established business may find the value in being able to bring in an external designer and talk through more specific areas of friction or future features, expansions or updates.
However, regardless of current status or issues, the goal is always the same. To discuss the most pressing issues within the products current state, apply creative thinking, design strategy and problem-solving, and leave the meeting with a better understanding, list of actions or simply a clearer state of mind than when we started.
"We decided to initially have a consultation with Kieran, after being so impressed by the ideas and how well he understood our brand, it would have been silly not to get him to do the actual design. We absolutely got so much value from our initial consultation, that it was a no-brainer to have him do the actual design."
Is it a consultation call for me?
A consultation call can be right for a variety of reasons. However, here are a few reasons others have booked a consultation with me;
How does a typical call go?
Every call is different, as it can vary from person to person and project to project. That being said, there is a similar pattern to each call, that looks a little something like this;
What's your refund policy?
I understand that sometimes after buying something, you have a change of heart or no longer need it. If this is the case, just let me know 24 hours before our call and I will refund you right away.
I’m confident you will find our chats valuable, but after our meeting, you feel there was no value, and it was a waste of time. Drop me an email and I will give you your money back with no issues and no hard feelings.
Ok, I'm in. How does this work?
After checkout, you will be redirected to my calendar showing a bunch of dates/times for you to choose from. Once chosen, you will get a confirmation email containing the date, time, call URL/location and what to do if you need to change any of it.
Upon the day of the call, you will get a reminder about our call, and what (if anything) to bring with you.
Once the time arrives, you click the link in your confirmation email and join the call with me.
That’s it, as simple as that. All you have to do to get started is click that “Book Now” button to be taken to confirmation and payment details.
A design audit is a strategic exploration and breakdown of your product or website, intending to discover its flaws and issues and suggest potential tweaks, changes, and reconfigurations to improve its overall usability, experience, and visual aesthetics.
There are many reasons a startup or individual may benefit from a design audit. However, a common thread is that there is value in getting insight and guidance from an experienced designer who works with startups daily.
Through a design audit, I reveal issues from both a user and designers point of view that you may not have been aware of or didn’t know how to solve. I’ll also supply suggestions and visual examples on how to fix them, and explain my reasoning along the way. So that you not only know what to change but understand why and what the benefits are of doing so.
I not only provide a map of what and where the problems are. But also directions on how to navigate it optimally through the use of a priority list. Where I list the top 5 issues that would make the most impact if changed.
This audit will cover multiple design topics such as;
Layout, Hierarchy, User Experience, Interactions, Typography, Accessibility, Visuals, Look & Feel, and other design patterns and thinking. As well as more generic issues I stumble across such as bugs, errors and nitpicking.
The goal of this Audit is to;
Is a Design Audit for me?
An audit can be useful in a few key ways.
What does the Audit include?
Who are you?
I'm Kieran Parker, a UI, UX & Product designer who has spent the last 6 years as a freelancer working with and designing for startups of various sizes. From day one funding, strategy, user interviews and initial designs, all the way through to launch, on-going maintenance, implementing features & user optimizations.
When I am not working with clients, I am designing and building my own products. Allowing me to experience similar pain points and struggles of founders. Allowing me to (somewhat) walk in the shoes of those I work with.
What's your refund policy?
I guarantee that the Design Audit will provide value to both you and your product. Either through the overall usability, experience or design quality.
If not, I will send you a full refund.
Ok, I'm in. How does this work?
After checkout, you will receive an introduction email from me containing a short questionnaire that will allow me to get a better understanding of you, your product, and what you feel your issues are currently.
Once I have everything I need to get started, I will conduct my initial visit recording, and start taking notes/writing up the strategy document.
Upon completion, you will receive an email containing a link to a notion document, which will contain the strategy document, recording and priority list.
It will also contain a discount coupon towards my consultation service, as you may find it helpful to follow up with me once you have implemented your changes.
And that’s it, as simple as that. All you have to do is click that “Buy Now” button to be taken to confirmation and payment details.
